CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW BLACK BELTS!

We would like to congratulate all those who tested with Shihan Norman Robinson last Sunday, March 14!

We are proud to have 7 new black belts:
David Laniado,
Edith Tsouri,
Aileen Goldberg,
Jill Goldberg,
Yael Alyeshmerni,
Ahuva Ross, and
Katie Urias.

There were a few students who tested for higher degrees of black belt and they are:
Joshua Wanderer; Sandan (third degree)
Dov Sternberg; Yondan (fourth degree)
and Don Emanuel; Godan (fifth degree).

Shihan Warren tested as well and attained a Sixth degree black belt (Rokudan) and the honorable title of Shihan.

Shihan is a Japanese term for expert or senior instructor. The term is used interchangeably with master instructor.
It is a high title that one only gets after training many years and attaining 6th degree or above, and when your own Shihan starts calling you Shihan.

Congratulations to all!

Oss,

Rebecca Obstfeld
Program Director
